Vicodin Rehab Addiction Treatment Center in Orange County, CA

Fear of withdrawal keeps too many people trapped in the cycle of Vicodin addiction. Don’t let uncertainty and anxiety keep you from moving forward. The experienced addiction treatment team at Adelante Recovery Center will keep you safe and comfortable during Vicodin detox and recovery.

What is Vicodin?

Vicodin is a pain reliever that contains a combination of acetaminophen and the opioid narcotic hydrocodone. It works by altering the way the brain perceives pain. In larger doses it can produce a “high” and feelings of euphoria.

Vicodin is commonly prescribed for moderate to severe pain. When used exactly as directed it’s considered safe for most people. But it’s not intended for long-term use.

The longer a person uses Vicodin the more likely they are to develop chemical dependency, especially at higher doses. Dependency means the person needs to keep taking the drug to avoid uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms. They also may need higher doses over time to achieve the same effect. This is referred to as tolerance.

Many people start taking Vicodin for legitimate reasons—for example, to control pain after surgery or to manage pain from a chronic condition—but become dependent. Others intentionally engage in Vicodin abuse for its mind-altering effects.

In either case, stopping the drug suddenly can cause Vicodin withdrawal symptoms, which can include:

  • Anxiety
  • Restlessness
  • Strong cravings for more Vicodin
  • Muscle aches
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Insomnia

These symptoms usually show up 8 to 24 hours after a person’s last dose.

Most people who are chemically dependent on Vicodin or struggling with Vicodin addiction need help to quit.

You don’t need to go through the withdrawal process alone. The medical team at Adelante Recovery Center will help keep you comfortable, safe, and motivated to keep going—even during the most challenging moments.

For some people, treatment ends after the detoxification process. For others, detox is just the beginning. It all depends on the person’s history with Vicodin addiction.

Our inpatient residential program is designed for people who need treatment beyond detox alone. Our residential program provides round-the-clock care and supervision in a comfortable environment. Our experienced team will create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

If you need dual diagnosis treatment for a co-occurring mental health issue such as anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorder, we can provide this higher-level care as well.

One-on-one therapy sessions and group therapy form the core of our program. As a client, you can expect to attend group therapy sessions daily and individual counseling several times per week, depending on your program.

We take a holistic approach to recovery. It’s why healthy eating, exercise, and restorative activities like beach walks and yoga are also central to our treatment philosophy.

Some of the therapeutic techniques our licensed therapists use include:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) – This popular and effective psychotherapeutic technique helps people identify disturbing or destructive thought patterns and replace them with more realistic and objective ones. CBT has been proven to help treat a wide range of conditions, from addictions to phobias to panic attacks.
  • Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) – DBT is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy. It helps people learn to accept their circumstances; analyze and change destructive thought patterns and beliefs; and communicate more effectively.
