America brings experience and heartfelt passion to her nursing role at Adelante. Originally aspiring to be a wound care nurse, her career path changed after taking a 13-week assignment at a recovery center. After witnessing the transformation and resilience of individuals overcoming addiction, she was deeply impacted, and her passion for working in recovery was launched. Presently, America possesses licenses to practice nursing in both California and Colorado, along with IV and blood draw certifications.
Hailing from Ontario, California, America later lived in San Francisco due to her father’s job relocation but eventually returned to her roots in Rialto, California. She considers herself a family person, with her children being the center of her life.
In her free time, America is a self-proclaimed foodie who loves exploring new and exciting cuisines from around the world. She is an avid gamer as well as an amateur behaviorist as she enjoys learning about the history and science behind human behavior. As a pastime, she enjoys visiting libraries and is always excited to explore new ones. She strongly believes in the power of education and is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, with the ultimate goal of opening her own rehabilitation center.
America’s favorite part of her job is watching hope return to her clients as they progress through early recovery. Her approach to earning their respect involves building connections through conversation, finding common ground, and treating clients with the same respect she expects in return. America understands that individuals grappling with addiction often experience a loss of dignity to themselves and by society. Her approach helps restore that dignity by treating clients with the utmost respect, forging connections based on shared experiences, and providing the opportunity for them to embark on a fresh start.
Her multifaceted interests and dedication to personal and professional growth make her a compassionate and driven healthcare professional, poised to make a positive impact in the field of addiction treatment.
